The Black Forest area is on the north end of Colorado Springs. Much of the area is defined by dense forest and also some rolling prairie land on the
southeastern corner of the area. The Black Forest Area of Colorado Springs often sees more snow than other areas because of the Lewis-Palmer divide. Although the snowfall is a bit heavier, the trees are absolutely
beautiful when covered in snow. The roads are normally easily passable in the winter as they are plowed often. Most homes in Black Forest are on five-acre
lots and are zoned for horses (with the exception of a few neighborhoods). There are several parks, walking trails and recreation areas for residents to enjoy.
The Black Forest School Districts are Academy District 20,
Lewis-Palmer District 38, and Falcon District
49.
