Briargate is a planned home and business community bounded on the west by Academy Boulevard and on the south by Woodmen Road. Since its inception in 1978, Briargate has grown to become the largest (the area encompasses more than 10,000 acres) master-planned community in Colorado Springs. Located in the northern part of the city, it is convenient to most of the area's major as well as shopping and other services. The Chapel Hills Mall, and movie theaters are within minutes.

One reason for Briargate's continued success is the location of the public schools, the or immediately adjacent to the development. The schools are in the District 20 system, which has an excellent reputation.

Recreation is a community plus, with the Pine Creek Golf Club, miles of trails and parks and the Rampart Recreation Center.
