To the south of Colorado Springs lies Fountain Valley, consisting of the three communities of Security, Widefield and Fountain. Security is one of the main commercial centers for the area. Many of the homes in Security are in a master-planned community that was built in the 80s. They have their own post office, stores, fast food restaurants, small eateries, salons, and more. In addition, some of the communities have HOA fees that pay for access to community pools, etc. The Fountain Valley area offers a good opporunity for many buyers because homes here often cost less per square foot than in many other areas. Security is just southwest of the Colorado Springs Airport and is a popular area for Fort Carson soldiers and their families to settle down.
