Manitou Springs, one of the oldest areas in the state of Colorado, is one of the nation's largest national historic
districts. The name Manitou means "Great Spirit" and originates from the city's Indian culture. The Ute and Arapahoe
Indian tribes met here in peace to worship the bubbling mineral springs. Natural and man-made amenities are available, including streamside and neighborhood parks, a heated indoor swimming pool, an outdoor band pavilion, numerous hiking trails and public owned mineral water springs. The many shops offer a wide range of specialty items including art, crafts and jewelry. You'll delight in shopping at the many stores that carry special handmade items. Housing choices range from renovated Victorian structures, to smaller bungalows and cottages, to the custom-home neighborhoods of Crystal Hills, Rock-edge and Garden of the Gods Village. Residential areas are located above the historic tourist area on steep hills and higher foothill areas. Contact Me to request more information about Manitou Springs. |
