Kissing Camels, which sits directly east of the Garden of the Gods, offers magnificent views of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. One of the rock patterns appears to be two camels kissing, hence the origin of the name. This development is over 35 years old, but new parts are still being developed for new construction. Located on a prominent mesa, the covenant-controlled gated community offers large single-family homes on a half to one-acre lots and numerous town home choices. While there are some smaller town-homes in lower price ranges, generally all the single family residences are in upper medium price range.

The area is home to the Kissing Camels Golf Club, which features a fine 18-hole course supported by a private membership. Participation is by invitation. Adjacent to the residential community is the Garden of the Gods Country Club which has a closed membership except through another member nomination.
