Many areas of Northwest Colorado Springs are alive with
native vegetation and wildlife. Several of these communities (like Rockrimmon) are nestled right against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. You'll see
many of these neighborhoods adopt natural landscaping instead of sod and other high-maintenance materials. Basically, the higher the neighborhood, the more
snow they get. Overall, the Northwest is a very convenient place to live for many. You'll find yourself close to the Garden of the Gods tech corridor, I-25
and just a few minutes from UCCS, Colorado College or the downtown area. There are interesting parks incorporated into the terrain with lots of ups and downs
for a great workout (whether biking, hiking, running or walking). The Northwest area of Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural Colorado
setting.
The Northwest School District is Academy District 20 and
Colorado Springs District 11.
